4 Majors Indoor Golf Flooring Rescue: When the First Epoxy Floor Missed the Mark, Queens of Floors Stepped In

Sometimes a flooring project starts with a blank concrete slab.

This one started with somebody else's mistake.

When 4 Majors Indoor Golf originally had its commercial floor installed, the vision was fairly straightforward: a clean, black epoxy floor that would complement the modern, dark interior of the facility.

But the finished floor wasn't giving the business what it needed.

And when your flooring stretches across a major portion of your commercial space, that's not exactly something you can hide behind a plant.

So 4 Majors needed a solution.

That's when Queens of Floors stepped in.

But instead of simply trying to recreate what had already been there, we asked a more important question:

What floor actually makes sense for this business?

And the answer changed the entire project.

The Problem Wasn't Just How the Floor Looked

Take a look at the before photos.

You can see a dark commercial floor running throughout the facility, but you can also see why simply putting another plain black finish over the space wasn't necessarily the best long-term answer.

4 Majors isn't a room people occasionally walk through.

It's an indoor golf destination in Coral Springs with simulator bays, lessons, leagues, memberships, private events and a full bar. Their simulator bays can accommodate groups of up to six players at a time.

In other words:

People actually use this place.

And that's one of the most important things to understand when choosing commercial flooring.

A floor shouldn't be selected only because the color looks good on a sample.

You have to ask what happens on that floor once the doors open.

How much traffic will it see?

How will it be cleaned?

What will everyday wear look like?

How much maintenance does the owner realistically want?

And can the floor still contribute to the design of the space?

That's where Queens of Floors recommended going in a different direction.

They Asked for Plain Black. We Recommended Something Better for the Space.

The original vision was an all-black epoxy floor.

Queens of Floors recommended a decorative flake flooring system instead.

Why?

Because this wasn't just about fixing a floor.

It was about giving the business a floor better suited to the way the space is actually used.

Decorative flake systems are a strong option for many commercial environments because they combine the performance benefits businesses are looking for with a finish that doesn't have to feel purely industrial.

And unlike a completely solid-colored floor, the decorative flakes create movement, texture and visual variation across the surface.

Look closely at these finished photos.

The floor is still dark enough to complement 4 Majors' black, white and gray interior.

But now you've got those contrasting flakes running throughout it.

It has personality.

It feels intentional.

And instead of the floor disappearing underneath the business, it becomes part of the overall design.

Before the Pretty Part Came the Rescue

Here's the part customers don't always see on Social Media.

You can't properly correct a flooring problem by pretending the existing problem isn't there.

The photos from this project show the floor during the rebuilding process long before that beautiful decorative finish existed.

That's an important part of this story.

Because Queens of Floors wasn't coming into a fresh space where everything was perfect and ready to go.

We were correcting an existing flooring installation.

The surface had to be addressed and prepared before the new flooring system could become the finished product you see today.

And that's why choosing a commercial flooring contractor isn't simply about asking:

“How much per square foot?”

The better question is:

“Do you understand what my existing floor needs before you put something new on top of it?”

Because what happens underneath the finished floor matters just as much as what you eventually see.

Commercial Flooring Should Be Chosen for the Business Not Just the Color

This project is also a good example of something we wish more business owners knew before choosing a floor:

You don't have to know exactly what flooring system you need before calling a professional.

You might know what you want it to look like.

That's different.

4 Majors knew they wanted a dark floor.

Queens of Floors took that design direction and recommended a system that could still deliver the aesthetic while making sense for a busy commercial environment.

That's the value of working with someone who isn't simply there to take an order.

Sometimes the best thing a flooring contractor can tell you is:

“I understand what you're asking for, but here's what I'd recommend instead, and here's why.”

Why Decorative Flake Flooring Works So Well in High-Traffic Commercial Spaces

Nobody opens an indoor golf business because they're passionate about maintaining floors.

You want customers enjoying themselves.

You want events happening.

You want people coming through the doors.

You want your staff focused on the business.

The floor needs to keep up with everything else.

For the right application, decorative flake flooring can offer a combination of durability, easier routine cleaning and decorative flexibility that makes it attractive for busy commercial environments.

And aesthetically?

You're definitely not stuck with “garage floor.”

Different flake combinations can create dramatically different looks from subtle neutrals to bold, high-contrast finishes like the one used here.

For 4 Majors, the black, gray and white combination fits naturally into the existing interior.

Commercial doesn't have to mean boring.

And durable doesn't have to mean ugly.

Installing the Floor Wasn't the End of the Job

This may actually be one of our favorite parts of the project.

Because a good flooring contractor shouldn't disappear the second the final coat cures.

Once the new floor was completed, Queens of Floors made sure the client understood how to care for it properly.

What to use.

What to avoid.

How to maintain the surface.

Because if you're investing in a commercial floor, you should also know how to protect that investment after the contractor leaves.

And those conversations matter.

A beautiful floor on installation day is great.

A beautiful floor years later is better.

Today, the flooring at 4 Majors continues to look immaculate because the project wasn't treated as simply “install it and leave.”

The client received the information needed to properly care for the finished surface and keep it looking the way it was intended to look.

That's what customer service should look like after the invoice has been paid.

Already Had a Commercial Floor Installed…And Something Isn't Right?

This is the part of the story we really want business owners to hear.

Maybe you're not starting with bare concrete.

Maybe you've already paid someone to do your floor.

And now you're looking at it thinking:

This is not what I expected.

Maybe the finish isn't right.

Maybe you're seeing problems you weren't expecting.

Maybe the floor doesn't make sense for the amount of traffic your business receives.

Or maybe you simply don't know whether what you're seeing is normal.

Don't assume you're stuck with it.

A commercial flooring professional can evaluate the existing surface and help determine what options may be available.

Sometimes the answer may be repair.

Sometimes resurfacing.

Sometimes a different flooring system entirely.

The important part is figuring out why the existing floor isn't working before deciding what goes on top of it next.

Looking for Commercial Epoxy or Flake Flooring in Coral Springs?

4 Majors Indoor Golf came to Queens of Floors with an existing flooring problem.

They left with something completely different:

A commercial decorative flake floor selected around the needs of the space, an updated look that complements the business, and the knowledge needed to properly care for it afterward.

That's the Queens of Floors difference.

We're not interested in simply selling you whatever floor you ask for.

We want to understand the space.

Understand the problem.

Understand how your business actually operates.

And then help determine the flooring solution that makes sense for you.

Whether you're opening a new business, renovating an existing commercial property or trying to figure out what went wrong with a floor someone else installed, Queens of Floors provides commercial epoxy flooring, decorative flake flooring, concrete surface preparation, flooring restoration and specialty concrete flooring solutions throughout Coral Springs, Broward County and South Florida.

Because sometimes a floor doesn't need another coat.

It needs a better plan.
